La difficulté de la sculpture est sa lenteur. C’est aussi sa noblesse et sa richesse. Une sculpture, il faut l’aimer d’un bout à l’autre quand elle est idée, quand elle est terre, plâtre, métal, pierre ou bois, quand, au travers de tout, elle est et reste poésie.

The hard thing about sculpture is that it is slow. But that makes it noble and rich as well. You have to love a sculpture from start to finish, as an idea, as clay, plaster, metal, stone or wood and, throughout the process, as the poetry it is—and remains.
